Graph plotting time vs impact

Building momentum with quick-win projects is a really useful tactic, but be clear with everyone that this is what you’re doing, so that it doesn’t feel like they’re being pushed away from issues they may feel are more important, but you know will take longer to bear fruit.

Gather together ideas from across the school and get students to plot them on a graph like the one on the right (each possible project being a point on the graph).

They should then pick off the projects that are in the bottom right of the graph first (i.e. can be done quickly and will have a big impact).

You should also come up with a communications plan for each project. How will you tell people about your successes?
