I do not belong to a specific school but am a member of the Notts Healthy Schools support team. One of my main roles is to develop Participation and Pupil Voice throughout the county through members of secondary schools (primaries next) attending consultation sessions and giving Notts NHS their views on a variety of issues. We have over 100 young people (mostly teenagers) who voluntarily attend and discuss items with us. Some of them are also on their respective school councils but many are not, so we get a good cross section of opinions. I am also on the Notts county Participation Strategy group committee where up to the change of governments, this was supported by both county council and NHS. I am also a member of the assessor team for the 'Investors In Pupils' scheme which promotes pupil voice and participation like no other scheme I have ever seen (either in my current role or as a previous primary head teacher. As you will probably understand I am very interested in helping to develop new ideas related to Student Voice and Young People Participation.

Thanks for getting in contact Chris. The Investors in Pupils scheme is indeed a good one and it's great to see so many schools in Notts have signed up to it. We'd love to get you involved in developing new ideas and promoting best practice. In fact, there's a project we're hoping to get the go ahead on this week that you may well be able to help us on. I'll be in contact with more details by email if we do.
