A one day training course in London for teachers who want to make their school council smart.
This course will give you ideas, resources and tips to improve your school council. It will help you to set up structures to help children to take a lead, make meetings run smoothly and help the school council to get more children involved.
100% of the 145 participants on our previous three courses said they’d recommend the course to a colleague. Read more about our last amazing masterclass week here, or a personal experience from a teacher on the course here.
NB. Your school will be able to claim back VAT.
Our school council training is informal, fun and based on years of experience of working with school councils across the UK and Europe. Our knowledge is also drawn from recent research into student voice for the Office of the Children’s Commissioner and helping to run the UK Parliament’s Speaker’s School Council Awards. Here are some of the nice things that teachers who attended our course in May said:
I enjoyed learning that I am not the only one with issues around running school council. I got lots of new ideas and contacts. Learning Mentor, Southwark
I enjoyed the format, there was a good balance of ideas for school council and for our own development. I loved sharing with others. Deputy Head, Haringey
Excellent practical ideas to take back to school, and a new enthusiasm for running a school council. And lunch of course! Year 6 Teacher, Haringey
I feel much more confident in what I now need to do to run my school council effectively and how to start projects and gain ideas. Year 4 Teacher, Birmingham
If you’ve already been on the course, you can attend our masterclass follow up days.
