Healthy School Food event (Wesminster Education Forum)

I went to this forum last week which was very interesting. A full transcript of all the sessions can be found under External Relations\Westminster Education Forum\Healthy School Food 250908 transcript (the password to access this is in brackets). However, in the meantime, there are a number of contacts that I think we need to follow up:

Merton Schools
Useful for case study or article about changes that can be made around food issues
Food for Life Partnership (Soil Association)
Emma Noble, Director wants to have a meeting to discuss further working
Great Grub Club
Website designed for 4-7 year olds

Olivia

Merton schools
Ricards Lodge High School and Rutlist School, both of which have made positive changes with regard to food issues. Both schools fall under the banner of Merton Parents for Better Food in School and their chair, Jackie Schneider, also spoke. Jackie invited us down to spend some time in the schools with a view to writing an article for VoiceBox or a case study for the website. She also said that if we have any new initiatives or ‘things we want to try out’ that we should come to them.

Food for Life Partnership
Emma Noble, Director of the Food for Life Partnership (Soil Association) spoke abut the way that they have been working with schools to encourage them to access local, organic food, develop cooking skills and grow their own food. More information: http://www.foodforlife.org.uk/
They have been working with lots of schools and often the first point of engagement is the school council. What’s the best way to follow this up and develop the links between our organisations?

Great Grub Club
The Great Grub Club website is produced by World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK) as part of the children’s education programme. The website is aimed at 4-7 year olds and strives to encourage healthy eating and an active lifestyle in a fun and informative way. More information: http://www.greatgrubclub.com/?location_id=31
Again, how can we follow this up?
