VB: £800K Revamp for under threat school

Less than two years after facing a possible reduction in pupil numbers, Eastington Primary School is looking forward to a near £800,000 expansion

Pupils, and especially the school council, had a “huge input” into the planned development and Mr Strang said: “They’ve even had three or four breakfast meetings with the staff in preparation.”

VB: Student heads to Downing Street

A STUDENT from Bolton has met Prime Minister Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street.

Aziz Mulla, aged 15, who is headboy at St James’ CofE School in Farnworth, was a guest at a reception hosted by Mr Brown to celebrate the work of young people in helping others.
“I was very impressed to hear about the work he has done at school in acting as a mediator in bullying cases and in organising fundraising performances for Derian House Children’s Hospice.”
