Teachers will find it easier to take pupils on school trips with more help and advice, less bureaucracy and quality badges for popular destinations, thanks to new guidance from the Department of Children, Schools and Families. The measure is included in the ‘Staying Safe’ Action Plan, launched today.

A group of 15- to 21-year-olds is setting up a social enterprise that will advise public services and businesses on engaging with young people, after taking part in a New Deal for Communities scheme.
The 10 young people decided to form the Disc Agency, which opens for business next month, after taking part in a young advisers scheme run by Community at Heart, Bristol’s New Deal for Communities project.
The scheme saw those taking part advise local services and companies on the best way to involve and attract young people. After it ended, the young people decided to continue their work through their own social enterprise.
Co-founder Ricardo Sharry said the Disc Agency would use its profits to bankroll a number of youth projects. “Our social aims include a website with information for young people, a youth advice hotline and an endowment fund for young people,” he said.
Community at Heart helped the young people get the training and support they needed to set up the Disc Agency. Charlene Richardson, Community at Heart’s young people’s programme delivery manager, said: “It just shows how much young people can do.”

This is great! I was happily working away when a reminder came to my email from netsuite to “call LA to follow up”. Great I thought until I realised that this was a crap note as I didn’t know who the LA was or what it was following up on. I then got shown how to find out more (Cheers Asher).
Go to Calendar Activity on the dashboard which will show your message. Mine was a bit too brief but said see previous call. I did this and there were all the details of a potential big LA day which I’m now following up on. Genious! I know you can do this on Outlook Tasks but this all links back to the actual record so if Greg takes a call he can see that some activity has already happened.
The success of this depends on people logging calls so remember to log notes of your calls on Netsuite – especially if it’s a possible lead for training!
